During the past weeks I have been giving myself a very generous break from anything that’s remotely related to work. Continue reading Yökuva
Today I break my 1 image/post rule again, just because I know how much you guys like photographs of the aurora borealis. The aurora was exceptionally active tonight, which resulted in a beautifully lit night sky, regardless of the light pollution. More images after the break. Continue reading Solar Storm
Last week I destroyed my right shoulder in a bike crash, but when I heard of possible northern lights yesterday evening, I decided to ignore the cloudy forecast and the aching shoulder and ventured out to Öjen to get a new view of the not-so-new-anymore wind power plant against the night sky. This image from my recent night trip is another shot of the northern lights – this time as seen in the actual night sky, as opposed to the early sunrise in my previous post. The colours are a little less dramatic, but in my opinion still don’t lack in beauty.
The foreground was illuminated by a few LEDs.

The weather was seemingly boring at first, but the ambience was amazing, resulting in a bunch of great images. Continue reading Purple Haze
In my previous post i described how I ventured out to photograph the northern lights.
And while the conditions for that kind of shooting were far from ideal, (the aurora was the most active, when it wasn’t even dark yet and the moon was very bright,) I managed to capture an “okay”-image of it. However, since I knew that most likely almost everybody would try to get an good shot of the aurora that night, I decided to do what I do best:
“If everyone is trying to catch those northern lights, then maybe I should point my cameras in the opposite direction.” Continue reading Think different
Last night I ventured out to get a shot of the aurora borealis (northern light). Usually I take only the equipment I’m certainly going to need with me, but this time I decided to carry almost every piece of equipment, which might be of at least some use. Continue reading Aurora borealis
