One man festival

On Friday I arrived in Stockholm and what was supposed to be an easy and relaxing day, quickly turned into the exact opposite. From the morning to the early evening I just spend my time wanderng up and down the streets, looking for interesting subjects and having a random chat here and there. Later, around 20:30, I was looking for a restaurant to have a quick bite, but when I encountered Mareks Radzevičs, a music student from Latvia, I was instantly blown away – and so were many more.

Gratwanderung

Changing a flat tyre on the side of the road.
Changing a flat tyre on the side of the road.

A few days ago I had the pleasure to help a family change their tyre on the side of the road and of course it wouldn’t be me if I wouldn’t take a few photographs along the way. The incident happened shortly after a road construction zone and this one wasn’t actually the first car on the shoulder. It was however the first one that seemed to need help, as all the others before it were abandoned. So I quickly pulled over and after a quick greeting and situation analysis(flat tyre, pulled over just a few minutes ago, no hurry to board a ship or the like), I decided to pretend as if I knew what I was doing. Group shot of our awesome hosts, the crew and of course Nadine the cyclist

Last Wednesday we were at the B&B Uniaitta in Laikko. It was a great experience we made many new friends and had a wonderful time together. Surprisingly the family has roots in both Germany as well as Finland just like me and one of their sons is also called Jan. It was quite hilarious how always two heads turned whenever someone called “Jan..”. 😀 Continue reading Laikko

Hapimag 50 – Start

Nadine Kuijper leaving the Hapimag resort in Punkaharju and beginning her long journey to Baar (CH).

Today is the beginning of the Hapimag 50 cyclists on tour event. Nadine Kuijper who is the cyclist on this route (there are 5 routes in total) just left the Hapimag resort in Punkaharju and is now on a long journey all the way to Baar in Switzerland. I’m looking forward to accompany this tour all the way to Germany and share some of the photographs I take along the road.
For the next days Nadine is also being followed by a small film crew, which is very fun for me too, since we can exchange our knowledge and give each other valuable input.. (And for once someone speaks my “language”!)
