Late summer

The milky way photographed near Tampere.

Todays photograph is another shot at photographing the milky way. This time I had a little more luck. The nights are dark now, but since it’s already late august, the milky way core is not rising above the horizon around here anymore. But I’m still quite happy with the result that I managed to achieve this time. However as you might notice, there is quite some light polution in the clouds.
There are just a few street lights, but they’re enough to illuminate the whole night sky and thus making photographs like these fairly hard.
In the past cloudy nights used to be darker than cloudless nights, today it’s the other way around. Did you know? In some cities cloudy nights are as much as 1000 times brighter than they used to be.
